COLLABORATIONS

Yossi Fine is one of the most distinctive and influential figures in Israeli and international music. A master bassist, composer, and prolific producer, his musical voice is rooted in a rich fusion of cultures, places, and timelines.

Throughout his career, Yossi has worked extensively in Israel and around the world, collaborating with artists such as Tony Ray, David Bowie, Lou Reed, John McLaughlin, Ofra Haza, Hadag Nahash, Ben Aylon, and many others. Through these collaborations, he has become a key figure in bridging traditional music with contemporary, living creation. His work is marked by deep listening to musical sources, combined with a creative freedom that allows ancient sounds to unfold in the present.

In recent years, Yossi has returned to ancient texts and melodies as part of an ongoing search for a musical form of prayer. This form does not belong to a single religion, but speaks directly to the human heart. From this search emerged the song “Do You Hear My Voice” (HaTishma Koli), based on an ancient Ethiopian melody, with newly written lyrics and quotations from the poet Rachel.

Our collaboration was born from a shared understanding that music can become a space for listening, calling, and closeness from the depth of the heart. It is a place where different voices meet and are truly heard. For me, this collaboration is a great privilege, a deep source of inspiration, and a way to sing and create together.

We continue to work together on new projects, guided by the belief that when music grows from its roots, it carries an ancient longing to be heard and to be called. This longing crosses continents and generations.

I am grateful to sing together and to send this voice forward, a voice that can open hearts and create genuine human connection.
